The 55LW5600 Review -

I've had the 55LW5600 for over 3 weeks now.  It's picture is stunning thanks to LED with Dimming.   This TV has 5 big features which really make it standout considering it's price point is only around $1000. 

Pros:

1. It supports 3D content from either a blu-ray 3d disc or from your cable/satellite provider.
2. No need to buy 3D glasses for it!  The 55LW5600 comes with 4 pairs of passive 3D glasses.  Passive 3D glasses don't require batteries.
3. Built-in Wireless!   You can watch movies and shows from online content providers like netflix, hulu, amazon and more.  
   The wireless connection also allows you to download updates and settings to your 55LW5600.  So, if there's an issue with the software on the TV you'll be able to download a fix as soon as LG releases it.
4. DLNA is a feature that allows you to connect the 55LW to your local network and access your pictures or music located on a computer.  We connected it to our Windows 7 PC and it plays a pretty sweet slide show of our 5000+ pictures.  Awesome for parties.
5. Last but not least...my favorite feature...the 55LW5600 is able to convert any 2D video into a 3D video.  This works for shows, sports, movies and yes...games!  It honestly looks awesome.  Of course it's not as good as 3d Bluray disc but it's pretty darn close.

Pros:

• Amazing LED for the price!  You'll easily pay another grand for a comparable Samsung, Sony or LG.  It's a steal really.
• 240 HZ

Cons:

• A little heavy - 86 LBS.
• QWERTY keyboard on remote does not light up, poor button spacing for typing.
• USB ports not turned on.
• Thicker than the average LED.  Not that big of a deal IMO.  Mount it and enjoy.

In Short - The Samsung UN55C7000 is Samsung's first 3D 55 Inch Edge-lit LED HDTV....wow, that's a mouthful.  It's got an absolutely amazing image with 3D capabilities but suffers from "clouding" when the TV is completely black in a completely black room...not a huge issue IMO.

The Samsung UN55B6000 55 inch 1080p 120hz LED HDTV is an excellent choice for those looking for life like picture quality, especially while viewing sports.  The UN55B6000's panel absorbs ambient light so you never lose viewing quality from imperfect lighting. The crystal neck swivel stand which is standard for this model is an aesthetically pleasing addition.

Samsung follows the crystal theme in the television itself, with a deep black finish and ruby accents that are very subtle. The screen is only 1.2 inches deep, so you'll have trouble finding a more sleek looking unit.

I enjoy the side- mounted USB 2.0 port, which allows you to watch home movies, slideshows of your digital photography, and play MP3s through your sound system. Technically speaking, the specifications on this Samsung UN55B6000 are impressive. The Auto Motion Plus 120Hz feature reduces blur common to HDTVs by doubling the frame rate from 60 to 120. The LED technology has an adaptive "natural" mode optimizes the picture automatically, despite glare or other lighting issues in the home. The Game Mode feature enhances the sound and processing speed of your video games. This is a Full HDTV with 1080p. Traditional HDTVs only have 720p, so the images on this model have much better detail. It also has a 4ms response time. These features combined produce a fluid display hard to beat for this price range.

Vizio’s VF551XVT is a 55 inch LED that you can actually afford!  The VF551XVT is backlit by 960 LED’s which are grouped into little blocks of 80. Vizio’s Smart Dimming technology dynamically turns those little blocks on or off (or just dims them a bit) depending on what you’re watching.

The result? Light leakage is eliminated and you’re left with true darks and lights….pretty cool stuff for a discount LED TV.

The VF551XVT’s contrast ratio is an amazing 2,000,000:1 (a regular 55” LCD Vizio is only 50,000:1!!!) and with a 240hz refresh rate fast action scenes (like action movies, sports or video games) remain crisp and clear. Also, you’re going to love the way 1080P looks on this guy…it’s so real.

The bottom line is that the Vizio VF551XVT is a great way to experience 55” LED HDTV without spending too much.

"I have spent months deciding on an upgrade to my 42" Sony rear projection tv. Most recently i had narrowed it down to the Samsung 8000, 8500 and the LG HH5590. LG had a far worse picture to me and the design was atrocious. I was able to get the 8000 on sale at BB for 2500 and couldnt justify the price difference to get the full back light LED 8500. I have read many reviews about the glowing white light from the corners and edges so i was somewhat hesitant but from my experience i didnt notice anything other than an amazing picture. I am very happy with this TV, would absolutely recommend it and can't wait to get it mounted on the wall with the Samsung slim mount."
